About Us
Josh Moy
Program Director & Owner
Josh Moy was born and raised in Baltimore County, Maryland. His personal experience with addiction began in adolescence and included time in treatment centers, hospitals, and multiple periods of incarceration. Through these experiences, Josh witnessed firsthand how existing systems often fail individuals living with substance use disorders.
In 2010, Josh committed himself to a life in recovery and has since dedicated his life’s work to supporting others impacted by addiction. His greatest passion is walking alongside men as they rebuild their lives, develop essential life skills, and successfully reintegrate into society. Josh brings a rare combination of lived experience, deep empathy, and a clear understanding of the discipline and accountability required for lasting recovery.
In 2017, Josh founded The Nicholas House, a MCORR-certified, long-term recovery housing program for men in Baltimore City. Since its opening, The Nicholas House has supported dozens of men in rebuilding their lives, repairing relationships, and establishing long-term connections within the recovery community. Josh continues to work and volunteer with a variety of treatment programs throughout Maryland and is widely regarded as a reliable, trustworthy guide in the recovery field.
Josh resides in Baltimore County with his wife and daughter.

We provide on-site peer support specialists who facilitate group programming, offer individual support, and coordinate case management services.
Our counselors are certified and licensed in addiction counseling through the State of Maryland and are trained in Trauma-Informed Care and Cultural Competency. Together, our team works collaboratively to support individuals through recovery with dignity, accountability, and respect.
We are a community-based organization, with both owners living and working in the same area as our recovery residence. This local presence allows us to remain actively engaged in day-to-day operations and deeply connected to the individuals and community we serve.
